• Hepatitis A: Two doses of the vaccine, given at least 6 months apart are needed.
• Hepatitis B: Full immunization requires 3 doses of the vaccine over a 6 month period. Usually the first 2 doses are given 1 month apart, and the third dose 5 months after the second.
• Varicella (Chicken pox): Two doses of the vaccine between 4 and 8 weeks apart are needed for anyone over 13 years of age.
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella):
• Pneumonia vaccine: recommend 1 dose after age 45, and 1 dose after age 65.
• Influenza vaccine: Recommend annual immunization
• Meningococcal vaccine: (Meningitis)
• Td (Tetanus diphtheria): Recommend 1 dose every 10 years
• Tuberculin Skin Testing: (Mantoux)

In addition to vaccination, the probability of contracting respiratory infections can be reduced by following a few simple steps:

• Cleaning hands often with soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand cleanser
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
• Stay home when you are sick and keep sick children home
• Avoid close contact with people who are ill
• Do not share eating utensils, drinking glasses, towels or other personal items
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
